WGC-Bridgestone is headed towards an exciting weekend with several big draw players still in contention. Rickie Fowler, after a second round 64, is tied at the top at 8-under with Adam Scott, Ryan Moore, and Keegan Bradley.
“A lot of good things came out of today,” said Fowler. “Building some confidence going into the weekend.”
Jason Day is one shot behind at 7-under with Nick Watney and Ryo Ishikawa at 5-under. U.S. Open champion Rory McILroy is lurking at 4-under with several other players including Steve Stricker and David Toms.
Tiger Woods had an up and down round of 71 and is currently at 1-under, seven shots off the pace. “Today was not very good,” Woods said.
Phil Mickelson, after a second round 73, is at even for the tournament.
Play will begin very early Saturday as rain is expected to hit in the afternoon. Players will go off in threesomes starting at 7am.
