Tiger in the woods, water, and sand during opening round 77 at PGA

Tiger Woods, who started his day at the10th, came out strong with three birdies in his opening five holes, but then dumped his long iron into the drink at the 254 yard par-3 15th leading to double bogey. From there, he completely unraveled with misses both left and right, and was in multiple sand traps and water hazards throughout the day.

Long story short, he got on the bogey train, which included three doubles, and simply couldn't get off.

All in all, he ended with a 7-over par 77 which puts him 14 shots behind leader Steve Stricker, who opened with a 63.

"I was 3 under through five and figured I could start letting it go, play by instinct and feel," he said. "That screwed up my whole round."

Woods will have to play extremely well Friday in order to not only make the cut, but also to qualify for the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs.
